Crowns are made of porcelain, zirconium or a combination of these materials. Crowns are also used to cover discoloured fillings and to add strength to a weakened tooth.
Unlike dental veneers, in the case of crown we need to remove larger amount of tooth so that the crown will cover the entire periphery of the tooth but the procedure is exactly the same as the veneer preparation steps.
